Check out Google’s new ad featuring a man’s emotional transition story
Google has released a new advert featuring a transgender man talking about his transition.
The advert, released during Pride Month, focusses at first on Jake, a trans man, who talks about his childhood and growing up with gender dysphoria.
It moves on to City Gym in Kansas City, where Jake is a member, which advertises itself as a low-pressure place for people to get to know themselves, and find acceptance and support.
The advert promotes Googles’s My Business tools for small businesses through the portrayal of Jake and his journey.
Google has been a long-time supporter of LGBT rights, and often celebrates diversity in its advertising.
In 2013, Google included same-sex weddings in its annual zeitgeist video.
