James Corden has discovered he is a “bear cub”, while campaigning to be the next Grand Marshall of LA Pride.

The British comedian is currently in America as host of The Late Late Show.

He filmed a segment for the show this week at Pride in Los Angeles – while campaigning to be made Grand Marshall of the Parade in 2016.

The host joked: “In the past Sharon Osbourne’s done it, Chelsea Handler’s done it… they’ve already got their Grand Marshall for this year, but I want to find out what I’ve got to do to be the Grand Marshall in 2016.”

Speaking to one of the organisers, Corden asked what gay subculture he would fall into, asking: “What am I, am I a bear?”

The Pride exec replied: “A bear cub” – suggesting he needs “another ten pounds” to make it to a fully-fledged bear.

The host then proceeds to go on a ‘bear hunt’ – rounding up a group of men before playing ‘musical bears’.

The star angered LGBT campaigners back in 2008 over film ‘Lesbian Vampire Killers’ – which was accused of being demeaning towards lesbians – but he has since championed equality.

He won £16,000 for HIV charity Terrence Higgins Trust while appearing on a celebrity version of ‘Deal or No Deal’ last year.
