Taylor Schilling drew blood filming OITNB sex scene
Orange is the New Black star Taylor Schilling says she injured herself while filming a scene for the new series.
In series 3 of the Netflix show, her character Piper Chapman has a steamy encounter with old flame Alex Vause – played by Laura Prepon – in the laundry room.
Appearing on the Seth Myers chat show, Ms Schilling said: “I hurt myself. I got very excited, I took my shirt off, and I scratched myself with my little prison name tag.
“I had, like, a gash on my face.
“We had to take an hour-long pause because I saw blood. It was raw.”
She said she still found filming sex scenes uncomfortable: “It’s weird. You’ve got a lot of people watching.”
This season of the show has seen for viewers fall for new cast member Ruby Rose, who said recently she “wasn’t expecting” to turn the entire into lesbians.
She said: “I have a couple of friends who don’t feel very warm towards it… [but ] my sense is definitely more lighthearted and neutral on it.
“I think people are just saying that to be complimentary. I don’t think anyone’s doing it to be derogatory or to take away from what it really means to come out and identify as a different sexuality than what people will think you are.”
