Ellen DeGeneres has a message for boy crying about his sexuality
TV host Ellen DeGeneres has left a message for a boy captured worrying about his sexuality on Humans of New York.
The popular photojournalist project, which is run by Brandon Stanton, attracts a huge following both on Facebook and across the internet.
HONY posts daily pictures of everyday people around New York, as well as an often-profound interview snippet.
This week, the blogger posted a picture of a young boy worrying that “people won’t like me” because “I’m homosexual”.
It has since gone viral, attracting hundreds and thousands of likes and comments – including a message from Ellen DeGeneres.
Responding to the boy’s worries, the out TV host wrote: “Not only will people like you, they’ll love you. I just heard of you and I love you already.”
The boy has also attracted a message of support from Democratic Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.
Using her official Facebook account, she wrote: “Prediction from a grown-up: Your future is going to be amazing.
“You will surprise yourself with what you’re capable of and the incredible things you go on to do.
“Find the people who love and believe in you – there will be lots of them. -H”
The former Secretary of State’s comment was wiped when over-zealous Facebook admins banned the photo through a “technical glitch”, but it has since been restored
