Anti-gay Republican Ben Carson accidentally buys ad on gay website
Anti-gay Republican Ben Carson has accidentally placed an advert on a gay blog.
The homophobic Presidential wannabe – who is strongly opposes LGBT rights- said earlier this year that prisons prove being gay is “absolutely” a choice.
He has previously been placed on an extremist watch list for comparing homosexuality to bestiality and paedophilia – and has ‘joked’ about poisoning gay wedding cakes.
That’s why it’s surprising that Mr Carson’s campaign took out an ad on gay news blog Towleroad.
The website, which focuses on LGBT rights in the US and around the world, carried an ad from Carson’s Presidential campaign.
It claimed: “Endorse Ben, Get a free bumper sticker. Ben Carson for President 2016.”
Mr Carson’s ad comes after he claimed that he doesn’t believe gay rights are civil rights.
He claimed: “I was a little bit irritated that they were equating the whole issue with the Civil Rights movement. Because, quite frankly, I didn’t remember any times when there were signs up that says, you know, ‘everybody else here and gay people have to drink at this fountain’.”
Following the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage, he said he would “call on Congress to make sure deeply held religious views are respected and protected” – effectively calling for legislation to permit discrimination against same-sex couples.
He insisted: “The government must never force Christians to violate their religious beliefs.”
