Katie Hopkins: Caitlyn Jenner needs to get over herself
Katie Hopkins has told Caitlyn Jenner to “get over herself”, over her new-found glamorous lifestyle.
The former Olympian came out as transgender earlier this year, before revealing her new identity on the cover of Vanity Fair.
She has since started a column about her transition in a bid to help other trans people, is recording documentary series I Am Cait, and attended NYC Pride – but it’s not enough for Katie Hopkins.
The controversy-monger hit out at Jenner on Twitter, taking exception to a promotional picture released ahead of I Am Cait.
She said: “Caitlyn, get over yourself bird. Do something. Say something. Be something.
“Women are more than dresses & photoshoots.”
Like Jenner, it was recently confirmed that Hopkins is set to get her own TV show.
Hopkins has previously claimed that gay and lesbian couples shouldn’t be allowed fertility treatment on on the NHS – and described diversity officers as “lunatics”.
Earlier this year she rejected claims that she “gatecrashed” the British LGBT Awards – sharing her VIP invitation after organisers claimed that she wasn’t invited.
Organisers Square Peg Media had denied that Hopkins was invited after she caused controversy at the event – but the columnist shared a copy of her invitation, which even came with free transport to and from the event.
Hopkins previously claimed Tom Daley’s coming out was “lame”, saying: “It was really lame… we all knew he was gay.”
