Watch: Effects Artist proposes to his boyfriend at San Diego Comic Con
A special effects artist as proposed to his long-term boyfriend at the San Diego Comic Con, in front of 7,000 delighted fans.
Visual effects and make-up artist Barry Bishop, proposed to his partner, Billy Brooks, in front of a packed audience at a San Diego Comic Con panel.
“You’re probably wondering why I’m up here with all of these people who Billy has worked with all this time,” Bishop said.
“Well, I have a surprise for him.”
To cheers from the audience, Bishop continued, “They were asking the panel earlier who was the most amazing person they had ever worked with in Hollywood.
“I just wanted to say – Billy Brooks, I love you, with all of my heart and soul.
“Will you please marry me?”
The couple then received a standing ovation from the crowd and panel alike, as Brooks accepted and sealed his engagement to Bishop with a kiss.
