Former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner has said she was ā€œblown awayā€ by a frank and honest segment on trans rights by comedian John Oliver.

The English presenter, who has made his name across the pond, gave an overview of how to be polite to trans people for uninitiated.

He said: ā€œIf youā€™re still wondering, ā€˜What do I call a transgender person? Itā€™s so confusing.ā€™ Actually, itā€™s pretty simple: Call them whatever they want to be called.ā€

On trans peopleā€™s medical history, he said: ā€œSome transgender people do go undergo hormone therapy or sex-reassignment surgery as part of their hormone therapy. Some do not.

ā€œAnd, interestingly, their decision on this matter is, medically speaking, none of your f***ing business.ā€

Tweeting this weekend, Jenner, who is currently releasing a mini-series about her transition, commended the segment on the Last Week Tonight show.
