Former BP boss blames gay porn Twitter favourites on being hacked
Out gay peer Lord Browne has blamed having favourited gay porn posts on Twitter on his account being hacked.

The former BP chief executive and cross-bench peer Lord Brown had favourited a number of NSFW posts on the microblogging site, reports Guido Fawkes blog.
According to the site, Lord Browne’s favourites, which are publicly viewable on any Twitter account, were cleaned up once it was reported.
A spokesman for Lord Browne told Guido Fawkes: “The account is run by Lord Browne and his office. It was brought to our attention a week or two ago that it had been hacked, after which a pornographic tweet was deleted and the password was changed.”
Despite this, Guido Fawkes reports that nearly two-thirds (57%) of tweets favourited by Lord Browne since he joined Twitter were of a pornographic nature.
The peer’s office has been contacted to ask whether the hacking has been reported to the police, but no statement has been issued.
Browne kept his sexuality hidden from public knowledge, until an ex-boyfriend outed him.
The crossbench Peer now suggests he could have led BP “in a very different way” had he been open about his sexuality.
The CEO of BP from 1995 to 2007, Browne said he he wrote his book ‘The Glass Closet: Why coming out is good for business’ to address the small number of openly gay CEOs.
In the book Lord Browne warns: “The double life I lead should not be seen as a workable blueprint for a business career. It should be seen as a cautionary tail.”
