The video, shot in Kiev, shows Zoryan Kis and Tymur Levchuk holding hands in the Ukrainian capital, in order to gauge the response from the public.
ChebuRussia TV of YouTube previously decided to conduct a social experiment to see what would happen when two men holding hands walked through the streets of Moscow, Russia.
Similar to the Kiev video, the footage was captured by a third member walking in front of them with a camera hidden in his bag, and the shocking video since went viral.
The first part of the experiment shows no extreme reactions other than some funny looks, and one group of women actually just want to have their photo taken with the couple.
One of the women follows Kis and Levchuk, saying she had never seen a gay couple before.
Then the couple, saying they want to be “more provocative”, sit down on a park bench with Levchuk on Kis’ lap.

The couple are shortly approached by a group of neo-Nazis, who first ask if they are patriots.
They then realised the men were waiting for a police patrol to pass, and as soon as they do, the couple are attacked with pepper spray and beaten.
One of the men tell the couple: “You’re in trouble”.

Another says: “It looks like they’re fucking mistaking this place for America.”
Despite the violent attack, the couple say in the video that they see the overall lack of reaction as a “step forward”.
