Caitlyn Jenner has appeared on stage alongside Boy George – while the singer was performing with Culture Club.
The former Olympian, who transitioned to female earlier this year, has become arguably the most famous transgender person in the world, netting her own documentary series and a string of awards.
This week, she made a surprise appearance ahead of a Culture Club performance – looking stunning as she took to the stage to introduce the band.
The I Am Cait star told the cheering crowd: “Caitlyn Jenner in the house for her first Boy George concert!
“This is going to be a good group. Thank you so much… enough about me!
“Thank you for being here tonight – this is so much fun for me, and let’s hear it here at the Greek Theatre for Boy George!”
Thanking Jenner for her intro, Boy George told the cheering crowd: “I expected a standing ovation for her and I wasn’t disappointed.
“We need to celebrate the kinds of changes that are happening.”
The appearance came on Thursday night – after Jenner reportedly attended a private ‘naming’ ceremony alongside friends from the LGBT community, including Boy George.
The religious ceremony, which is thought to have been officiated by a minister, saw Caitlyn blessed for her new identity.
Boy George told Yahoo: “It’s that world I was fighting for in 1984. That was what I wanted. I wanted people not to care about whether you were gay, straight, black, white, transgender, whatever it may be.”
