Obama advised to ban homosexuality, like his ‘fellow Africans’
Televangelist Pat Robertson has advised President Barack Obama to listen to his ‘African cousins’ regarding LGBT rights.
Mr Robertson recently insisted that he’s not a homophobe or “some sort of right-wing extremist” – which is a little hard to believe, when considering his history of anti-gay vitriol.
Lowlights include Robertson advising parents of gay youths to treat their children “like they are drug addicts” earlier this year and comparing same-sex couples to “terrorists”, who are forcing Christians to marry them or else face jail.
Keen to add to his repertoire, Mr Robertson recently leant his support to Kenya’s harsh anti-gay laws following President Obama’s visit to the country, reports Right Wing Watch.
During an episode of his show – The 700 Club – on the Christian Broadcasting Network, a reporter profiled the debate in Kenya profiled Kenyan Bishop Mark Kariuki’s anti-LGBT efforts following the US President’s debate with the country’s leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta – who subsequently ignored Obama’s pleas for equality.
In an interview with CBN, Kariuki called on Kenyan leaders to reaffirm the country’s laws on homosexuality – where homosexuals face up to 14 years in prison – and urged Obama to reverse his support for LGBT rights before it leads to America’s destruction.
Robertson, who, like Kariuki, believes that LGBT rights will lead to “divine wrath against America”, said that “those Africans have got it right.”
“One wishes that the president of the United States would listen to some of his fellow Africans, cousins, to what they have to say because they speak truth and they speak wisdom,” he added.
