New trailer boasts ‘unexpected’ X Factor
Fans of ‘The X Factor’ are being told to “expect the unexpected” in a new trailer for the twelfth series of the singing competition.
The clip gives the first glimpse of the new judging panel – comprised of Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Rita Ora, and Nick Grimshaw – as well as new hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, who are taking over from Dermot O’Leary.
The tongue-in-cheek trailer also pokes fun at the series’ more contrived elements. Cheryl is depicted as a robot who is given commands to become emotional, while Nick Grimshaw spouts some of Louis Walsh’s favourite catchphrases while being fitted with an electronic chip.
Elsewhere, Rita Ora is distracted by her own beauty while critiquing a contestant; and Simon promises that he has already found this year’s winner.
The X Factor returns later this summer.
