Man who stabbed six people at Jerusalem Pride sent for psychiatric evaluation
The man behind six stabbings at Jerusalem Pride which left one person dead, is to be sent for psychiatric evaluation.
Yishai Schlissel went on a stabbing rampage during Jerusalem’s Pride parade two weeks ago, stabbing six people.
Speaking on behalf of Hadassah hospital, Hadar Elboim last week said 16-year-old Shira Banki had succumbed to the wounds she sustained in the attack.
After having his custody extended last week, Schlissel has now been sent for a psychiatric evaluation, and will be remanded in custody for a further three days.
The attacker has refused counsel, and says he does not accept the legitimacy of the court.
Schlissel was released last month after serving 10 years in prison for a previous attack at the same parade in 2005.
Posters which celebrate the stabbing at the weekend appeared in Jerusalem.
