Fox hosts just found out that toys don’t have genders, and they aren’t happy

Fox News hosts aren’t happy about a supermarket’s decision to remove needless gender labels from its children’s toys.

Target became the latest US-wide retailer to announce a change this week, opting to remove the labels girls’ and ‘boys’ from toys that can be enjoyed by either gender.

The company explained: “Over the past year, guests have raised important questions about a handful of signs in our stores that offer product suggestions based on gender. In some cases, like apparel, where there are fit and sizing differences, it makes sense.

“But we know that shopping preferences and needs change and, as guests have pointed out, in some departments like Toys, Home or Entertainment, suggesting products by gender is unnecessary. We heard you, and we agree.”

However, the nuanced point unsurprisingly did not go well on Fox News – with the hosts of Fox and Friends utterly failing to understand what it actually means.

Fox News host Steve Doocy struggled to understand the basic concept of a football not having genitals and therefore not being a gender, angrily asking: “They’re going gender neutral, whatever that is… Have the PC police gone too far?”

Correspondent Alcides Segui delivered a bizarre live report from a Target in Tampa that might as well have come from a warzone in the Middle East.

Unable to understand that chemistry sets are for both boys and girls, and that anyone can play with a princess doll if they want to, he whinged: “Is this going to confuse you? I know it’s going to confuse me.

“And they’re doing it not only at this store here in Tampa but all Target stores across the country.”
