Homophobe exposes genitals before claiming to be Batman
A drunken man shouted homophobic abuse before exposing himself and placing his genitals on the bar of a pub.
Superhero wannabe Nathan McMahon, 27, called the landlord a “gay git” before exposing himself in front of another customer, The North Devon Journal reports.
His tirade of abuse continued as the landlord attempted to remove his alcohol, before he was eventually forced to press a panic button to call police to the Bell Hotel in Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
McMahon and his companion went on a drunken rampage after leaving the venue – destroying a ‘for sale’ sign, smashing up plants and gardens, as well as urinating in the street and shouting abusive threats.
Police put him in a riot van and took him into custody – where he initially told officers his name was “Batman”. The police, surprisingly, realised that McMahon may not actually be The Caped Crusader, and MacMahon’s true identity was eventually revealed.
McMahon – from Manchester – pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour and damaging property when he appeared at Yeovil Magistrates Court.
He was given a 12 month community order with 120 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £235 in compensation.
Tom Biggs, defending, said it was “a drunken night that went terribly wrong”.
