Caitlyn Jenner: I’m looking for a man to treat me ‘like a woman’
Reality star Caitlyn Jenner has said she is looking for a “normal relationship”, and for a man to treat her “like any other woman”.
Jenner says in a preview for the latest episode of ‘I Am Cait’, that she has plans to start dating.
‘It would be very attractive to me to have a guy treat me like a woman,’ she says.
In the preview, Jenny Boylan, national co-chair of GLAAD, said: “What does that mean ‘a normal woman?'”
Jenner replies: “Uh, that you would be treated like a normal woman… like any other woman on the street, and not make it this big trans thing, or this or that. Just a normal relationship.”
Boylan responds: “You are a normal woman, right now, today.
“You don’t need a man to make you a woman. A woman can make you a woman.”
Going on, Boyland says: “I think it’s a thing that women do: we look to men to give us self-worth.
“Now that you’re in the sisterhood, you have gone to such trouble to be a woman; don’t be a stupid one. Be a smart one.”
Caitlyn Jenner garnered global praise earlier this year, after she bravely came out as transgender on the cover of Vanity Fair – instantly becoming a role model for trans communities all over the world.
The former Olympian has received international recognition since coming out, and has been supported by family, fans and fellow celebrities alike – including actor Eddie Redmayne, who voiced his support for her last week.
Unfortunately, she has also faced criticism and been victim to both transphobia and ridicule –including a transphobic rap from the eternally homophobic hip hop star Eminem.
