Reports: Anti-gay activist Josh Duggar ‘missing’ from Christian rehab
Married anti-gay activist Josh Duggar is reportedly missing from a Christian ‘treatment centre’ – after checking in amid allegations he had been “unfaithful” to his wife and abused teenage girls.
Josh Duggar had served as executive director of the Family Research Council – an anti-gay hate group that works to oppose LGBT rights – but despite opposing equal marriage for gay people, he was revealed to have a paid account on affair website Ashley Madison when leaked this month.
Duggar also appeared on TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting – but the show was pulled off air earlier this year when an unsealed police report revealed that Duggar was reported to have sexually assaulted girls, including some of his own sisters, years prior. He has since resigned from the Family Research Council in disgrace.
After the Ashley Madison leak, Duggar released a statement admitting that he “became unfaithful to my wife” – while his parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar revealed that he checked into a ‘treatment centre’ following the scandals.
However, despite claims that he checked into Christian rehabilitation centre Reformers Unanimous in Illinois, he is reported to have now vanished – after absence from both mandatory prayer meetings and twice-weekly church services.
A source told Radar Online: “Josh definitely wasn’t there. It was very strange.”
Raw Story added: “Not a soul in Rockford, Illinois has actually spotted Josh Duggar among the individuals receiving treatment at RU.
“He hasn’t been seen coming or going from any of the mandatory church services at North Love Baptist Church. This is especially odd considering the rules at Reformers Unanimous posted on their website claim it would be a mandatory part of everyone’s recovery process at RU.
“There has been absolutely no sightings of Josh anywhere in Rockford or RU.”
