New Pot Noodle advert smashes gender stereotypes (VIDEO)
The instant food giant challenges traditional gender roles in its latest advertising campaign.
The advert tells the story of a young man who dreams of making it big ā seemingly in the world of boxing.
We see him lifting weights, jogging and working out with a trainer ā in a montage usually shown in films such as Sylvester Stalloneās classic 80s film āRockyā ā before he finally achieves his dream and reaches Las Vegas.
However, what the audience do not realise is that the boyās dream is not to box or fight inside the ring ā he actually wants to be āring boyā ā a role traditionally played by young women, as he family and friends cheer him on.
The advert his part of the instant noodle giantās latest campaign ā āYou Can Make Itā ā aimed at encouraging customers to follow their dreams ā with the aid of (unsurprisingly), a trusty Pot Noodle.
The advert has warranted an overwhelmingly positive response on social media ā with many praising the brandās clever twist ā with others congratulating the brandās comedic delivery.
Pot Noodle are the latest addition to a growing list on brands challenging gender stereotypes and encouraging gender fluidity ā including Disney, which recently displayed a male mannequin wearing female clothes in a Disneyland window display.
In addition, Ellen DeGeneres recently announced she is releasing a range of gender challenging clothing with GAPKids.
The popular TV host plans to release the range, in collaboration with Gap, aims to support and encourage girls to reach their full potentials and express their own identities.Watch the full advert below.
