Caitlyn Jenner is ‘in on the joke’, isn’t offended by Halloween costume
Caitlyn Jenner has said she doesn’t think a halloween costume meant to allow men to dress as her is offensive.
Caitlyn Jenner garnered global praise earlier this year, after she came out as transgender on the cover of Vanity Fair.
However, a costume company has decided to take advantage of the situation by mocking the star’s transition – offering customers the chance to indulge in a little “Vanity” of their own.
The “Call Me Caitlyn” costume is being sold at Any Time Costumes and Wholesale Halloween Costumes – where the outfit seems to be aimed at men who want to dress as a trans woman for the night.
Speaking on the Today show, Jenner said she was not offended at all by the costume.
“I’m in on the joke,” she says. “Yeah, no, I don’t think it’s offensive at all. I know the community does, and [the companies that sell them have] gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. I think it’s great, to be honest with you; I think it’s great. But they could have came up with a better outfit for it!”
Jenner also said she fears being sent to a male prison over a car crash earlier this year.
