The singer issued an epic response to a presenterā€™s questions over the ā€œwomanā€ in his life.

Steve Grand appeared in a local TV interview over the weekend ā€“ however, it seems the presenter forgot to do his research.

The model and music star was on the show to discuss an upcoming performance, as well as his recent invitation to the Marine Corps ball.

About a minute into the interview, Grand was asked if his inspiration comes from the ā€œpoor women who date you, right?ā€

After a few seconds pause, he replied: ā€œWellā€¦ no. Iā€™m gay so itā€™s guys.ā€

Grand then used the opportunity to talk about how no matter who we love, as humans, we all love the same.

ā€œItā€™s all the same really,ā€ he told the the presenter.

ā€œItā€™s about the human experience and I think thatā€™s what I really mostly stand for as an artist.

ā€œAnd I think that itā€™s good that people hear me and they may not even realize that Iā€™m singing about guys, and I think that is a testament to the fact that we do really all love the same, we lost the same, we feel heartache the same and thatā€™s what itā€™s all about.ā€

A modest Grand later took to social media to say he had no hard feelings regarding the presenterā€™s presumptuous mistake.

ā€œAs soon as we cut the segment I burst out laughing and let the woman know it was all okay,ā€ he said.

ā€œI understand they are meeting new people every couple of minutes and are expected to entertain and engage audiences all over the state so I donā€™t post this at all as a criticism.

ā€œIf I was legit famous it would be one thing, but I still feel grateful for all the opportunities I am afforded to talk about my life and my work,ā€ he added.

ā€œThis was just a silly moment I found to be pretty hilarious.ā€

US Marine Tanner White earlier last week asked the ā€˜All American Boyā€™ to the 2015 Marine Corps Ball in a YouTube video.

Grand later responded with his own video to Sergeant White, saying he would be ā€œhonouredā€ to attend the ball in November.

He said: ā€œI want to say that Iā€™m honoured to accept your invitation to be your date at the Marine Corps Ball this November.

ā€œThank you so much for your service to this country and I look forward to a really fun evening with you in November.ā€

Grand ā€“ who rose to fame when after self-funding his own album ā€“ was sent to ā€œgay conversionā€ therapy by his parents when they discovered he was gay when he was in eighth grade.
