Mayoral hopeful and Kim Davis fan will jail all the gays if elected
A mayoral hopeful, and Kim Davis fanboy, has said he would jail all gay people, if he is elected.
Eugene Holmes is a mayoral candidate in the King Mountain suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina.
“In my administration I would do just like Mrs. Davis did in Kentucky,” Holmes has said.
“If you elect me, I’ll uphold the law of the state of North Carolina. I would get the D.A. to swear out a warrant on any man who says he’s gay. Sodomy is a crime, a felony in the state of North Carolina.”
Despite that 12 states in the US currently have anti-sodomy laws on their books, it is actually unconstitutional for these states to enforce the law.
Speaking to the King Mountain Herald, Holmes, a member of the Church of God, and the Promise Keepers, said: “What’s wrong with eradicating homosexuals? We should jail them, throw them all in jail!”
He has been arrested himself several times, usually for shouting hate speech, and for attempting to perform citizens arrests on gay people.
Gays haven’t been singled out, however, as Holmes also said he wants to ban alcohol, divorce and all immigration to the US.
“The mayor doesn’t do much, in my eyes,” he told the Herald. “He just collects a paycheck. But [incumbent mayor Rick Murphrey] hasn’t had any competition in the other elections and I wanted to see what I could do. If I’m elected, it will be we the people who run the show.”
