Hillary Clinton just told Lena Dunham she is ‘absolutely’ a feminist
Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has told Lena Dunham that she is “absolutely” a feminist.
In a clip from an interview with Clinton by Dunham, the politician says she is “puzzled” by young women who refuse to label themselves feminists.
She said the label “doesn’t mean you hate men”.
The Lenny Letter project sees Dunham work with Girls showrunner Jenny Konner.
It includes a piece focussing on Sandra Bland, and a short story from Dunham.
The full interview will be broadcast on LennyLetter.com, which launches on 29 September.
In the full edition, Clinton will discuss her life in college “and the ambivalence she felt in her early 20s about her own life and career path.”
Amy Schumer will also reportedly feature in the video alongside comedy sketches.
Next month Hillary will speak at a Human Rights Campaign gala dinner, as well as Vice President Joe Biden.
Dunham was one America’s most vocal activists in support of legalising same-sex marriage in the States, promising to boycott marriage until every human was given the right.
