A group of Orthodox priests have stripped off again for a charity calendar – to help fight homophobia.

The annual naked Orthodox Calendar is organised by a group in Romania to challenge conservative opinions within the church – and features nude and semi-nude photographs of members of the Orthodox Church.

The 2016 calendar, which features Romanian Orthodox Christians, has been unveiled this week, and is available to order.

This year’s edition will be the fourth time the calendar has been produced, and organisers claim it is “still the only organized global effort against homophobia in the Orthodox region.”

The 2016 calendar is titled Sancta Paraphilia – or “holy desires, or sexual practices that differ from the traditional” – and it features a number of figures in religious attire in rather non-traditional positions.

The new calendar takes aim at militantly anti-gay Russian politician Vitaly Miliniov, who was the architect of Russia’s ‘gay propaganda’ law.

A release says: “The fourth series pays tribute to Acceptance and tells the story of father Vitaly Milonov travelling to the West eager to explore Diversity of desires described by Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill as evil perversions.

“A journey into his soul that will teach him that diversity of desires is nothing to fear but instead should be embraced.”
