This Icelandic kids TV show explained sexuality perfectly (VIDEO)
A kids’ TV show in Iceland has tackled the topic of sexuality – and explains it fantastically.
Long-running kids’ show Stundin Okkar, which airs on Icelandic TV channel RÚV, aired the segment.
The clip features Icelandic former Eurovision singer Páll Óskar, who explains his sexuality in a way that any child can understand.
When he is asked: “Do you have a girlfriend?”, the singer responds: “Actually, no I don’t… and I’m never going to have any girlfriends.
“I don’t get crushes on girls. I get crushes on guys, because I’m gay.”
When asked “When did you know you were attracted to guys and not girls?”, he asks the female host: “When did YOU know you were attracted to guys and not girls?”
When she says “I’ve just always known”, he adds: “Yeah, same here. It’s exactly the same. You’re just born this way.
“Some guys like other guys, some guys like girls. Some girls like guys, some girls like other girls. You don’t decide what makes your heart beat, it just beats.”
He adds: “Think about what it would be like to live in a world where it didn’t matter who you were attracted to!
“We just need to create that world – that’s our responsibility.”
It might seem down to earth… but then again, Swedish children’s TV had a dancing vagina.
