People tried to shame Marc Jacobs for using Grindr, and his response was incredible
Fashion designer Marc Jacobs has fantastically quit gay hook-up app Grindr, after a number of steamy reports of his usage of the app.
The designer for his eponymous fashion label has long been candid about his internet flirtations – accidentally uploading a naked picture to his public Instagram earlier this year.
At the time Jacobs swatted away the controversy, saying: “I’m a gay man. I flirt and chat with guys on line sometimes. Big deal!”
However, gossip blogs were not dissuaded, with Page Six reporting the designer had used Grindr to invite ten men to his New York home for a “wild” night-long orgy.
Reacting to the story on Instagram, Jacobs posted a giant photo of himself in front of the Grindr logo.
Including a topless photo of himself, he wrote: “Yup. I’m gay. Sometimes I enjoy sex. Sometimes! #stillonlyhuman #callmemarc #yourstory…maybe.
“Goodbye (for now) Grindr! It was fun for ‘group’ get togethers, but, what really excites me is my work!”
The designer recently said he is tired of labels.
He wrote: “You know, not what they do for a living, not what their sexual preference is, not their age, not who they’re related to. It’s 2015.
“Just say, ‘Hi, I’m Caitlyn.’ ‘Hi, I’m Marc.’ It’s not like, ‘I’m Marc, homosexual Jew from New York’.
“You know, ‘fashion designer’.”
