Watch: Ellen DeGeneres is Adele’s ex-lover in ‘Hello’ parody
Ellen DeGeneres has added to the crushing weight of parodies of Adele’s new single – and it might be one of the best.
The TV host launched into the skit on her show, after the Rolling in the Deep singer’s comeback single Hello was launched.
She told her audience: ”Adele and I are good friends and a lot of people don’t realize her new song is based on a conversation that we had… take a look!”
The single’s video – which has racked up 150 million views on YouTube in just a week – sees Adele calling a former lover to reminisce about old times.
Ellen’s video sees the other side of the call – with Adele calling up the host instead of an ex-boyfriend.
It doesn’t go well, however – Ellen struggles with a bad connection, and misses what Adele’s saying eating crisps.
Adele’s new album 25 is out on November 20.
The popular TV host recently candidly discussed the fear she felt before opening up about her sexuality.
“I didn’t think I was going to come out, period… I didn’t think I’d be coming out on a show, ever.
“And my fear was that no, no they wouldn’t, and then it made me feel ashamed that I was hiding something.
“It made me feel ashamed that I couldn’t feel honest and really be who I am, and I just didn’t want to pretend to be somebody else anymore so that people would like me.”
