Kate Winslet looks stunning in androgynous new photo shoot
The actress blurs gender lines in the striking images from photographer Peter Lindburgh.
Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet looks amazing in her latest photo spread for L’umomo Vogue.
In the images – shot by Peter Lindburgh – a classy looking Winslet sports slicked back hair, a men’s suit and tie, Oxford shoes, and has a cigarette dangling from her fingers.
However, the actress still looks as beautiful as ever, in a shoot the photographer has described as “male drag inspired”.
The actress recently warned parents risk losing control of their children to online influences.
Winslet revealed that she has banned all forms of social media from her house to protect her children’s self-confidence.
The actress took aim at online services such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram – accusing them of destroying young people’s self-esteem.
“It has a huge impact on young women’s self-esteem, because all they ever do is design themselves for people to like them,” she told Culture Magazine.
“And what comes along with that? Eating disorders. And that makes my blood boil. And is the reason we don’t have any social media in our house.”
Winslet recently hit headlines during negotiations with beauty brand L’Oreal.
The Hollywood star has had it written into her contract with the cosmetics giant that her Lancôme ads must be free of any editing of her appearance.
The star appears in ads for the brand – but has rejected photoshopping of her wrinkles, blemishes, or other perceived ‘flaws’.
“I can only ever speak for myself and I can only ever do things that are important to me and it’s a hope that other people might follow suit,” she said at the time.
“But it does feel important to me because I do think we have a responsibility to the younger generation of women.”
A staunch LGBT rights supporter, back in 2011 the actress shared an amazing exchange with her son – when he asked what would happen if he were gay, aged just seven.
The Academy Award winner recently continued her busy run of film releases by starring in revenge comedy ‘The Dressmaker’ and much-hyped biopic Steve Jobs.
