Tinder CEO reveals he doesn’t know what ‘sodomy’ is in most cringeworthy way possible
The CEO of Tinder made an awkward slip in an interview – when he accidentally labelled himself as a sodomite because he “gets turned on by intellectual stuff”.
Sodomy is a Biblical term that refers to sexual intercourse that is considered unnatural – commonly used today to refer to gay sex, as seen in anti-gay laws around the world.
However, that’s not what Sean Rad, the CEO of hook-up app Tinder, thinks it means.
Speaking to the Evening Standard about his dating life, Mr Rad said: “Apparently there’s a term for someone who gets turned on by intellectual stuff. You know, just talking.
“What’s the word? I want to say ‘sodomy’?”
The answer understandably caused Tinder’s Comms chief Rosette Pambakian to go into meltdown, shouting: “That’s it… we’re going to be fired!”
After being informed what sodomy actually means, Rad responded: “What? No, not that. That’s definitely not me. Oh, my God!”
Of course, there’s plenty of sodomy going on on Tinder, as the app is very popular with gay men.
A computer programmer recently designed a Tinder exploit to trick straight men into flirting with eachother.
The hacker designed a system that makes me think they’re talking to women, but instead pairs up male users and relays their messages to each-other.
The programmer originally intended to create a bot to expose the degrading way men treat women on the app – but the idea got derailed when most of the men failed to realise they weren’t actually talking to a woman.
