‘Kill the gays’ pastor claims media has upset God by exposing link to Presidential candidates
‘Kill the Gays’ pastor Kevin Swanson claims that the media is “picking a fight” with God after reporting Swanson’s links to a number of Republican Presidential candidates.
Presidential hopefuls Ted Cruz, Bobby Jindal and Mike Huckabee all attended a ‘National Religious Liberties Conference’ earlier this month, hosted by extremist pastor Kevin Swanson, who calls for gays to be put to death.
At the event attended by the candidates, Swanson called for children to be drowned rather than allowed to read Harry Potter. He also shouted: “Yes, Leviticus calls for the death penalty for homosexuals!
“Yes, the Apostle Paul does say that homosexuals are worthy of death! His words, not mine, and [screaming] I AM NOT ASHAMED! I am not ashamed of the truth of the word of God!”
However, there has been no apology or condemnation for any of the candidates for the comments – with Huckabee’s rep incredibly saying he “appreciated the opportunity to speak with an audience in Iowa about the importance of standing up for our religious liberties”.
As the focus on the link between Swanson and the candidates intensifies, the pastor has spoken out to claim the media are really upsetting God.
According to Right Wing Watch, he told Generations Radio: “We experienced a media firestorm coming out of the conference.
“Any time the nation has taken up a fight with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Creator of the universe, you don’t pick a fight with the Creator of all of the galaxies, all of the planets, this entire solar system, you don’t pull together a couple of ants and lift a fist to the Almighty and think you can get away with it.
“This is, I think, the reason why the media firestorm, we have touched the conscience of a nation and they realize they’re in trouble, they’re in trouble with the God of the universe.”
