US pastor claims God will destroy the UK over LGBT conference
A pastor with ties to two US Presidential candidates has claimed that God will ādestroy nationsā over an LGBT conference set to be held in London.
Presidential hopefuls Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee attended a rally earlier this month hosted by extremist pastor Kevin Swanson, who calls for gays to be put to death.
The pair are yet to condemn Swanson, who repeated his ādeath to gaysā comments at the event.
Speaking on his āGenerations Radioā show this week, Swanson complained about the new lesbian Mayor of Salt Lake City, claiming āYou see the tip of the iceberg, the other 95 percent is under the waterā¦ thatās where you find the child molestations.ā
He also noted that the outgoing Mayor of Salt Lake City Ralph Becker is due to speak at the Economistās Pride and Prejudice conference, which is held in London and New York next year.
Swanson claimed of the Economist: āSure enough, the bastion of conservatism is the place at which the future of this nation is being eroded in the most fundamental sense. The one conference they will promote in 2016 is all about homosexuality.
āSometimes theyāre a little more conservative in terms of economic policy, but they want to be that edgy, progressive organization that promotes homosexuality in the business world, and the very thing that will destroy nations.
āPeople donāt believe that, that homosexuality will be the catalyst by which nations are destroyed, because they donāt believe that God exists and they donāt believe God is judge and they donāt believe that God has the right to determine right and wrong, good and evil as he does in the word of God.ā

There has still been no condemnation of Swanson from either Huckabee nor Cruz, weeks after they happily appeared alongside him.
When challenged with some of Swansonās death to gaysā comments, Huckabeeās rep claimed the candidate āappreciated the opportunity to speak with an audience in Iowa about the importance of standing up for our religious libertiesā.
Meanwhile, Cruz insisted: āI donāt know what this gentleman has said or hasnāt said. I know that when it comes to religious liberty, this is a passion of mine and has been for decades and that I have been fighting for religious liberty for everyone.ā
Since Senator Cruz ādoesnāt knowā what Swanson said, hereās a handy video of exactly what he did say at the rally attended by the Presidential hopefuls:
