Watch: Donald Trump continues quest to offend everyone by mocking disabled journalist
Donald Trump has continued his quest to offend as many people as possible while running for President – by mocking a reporter’s disability.
The Republican Presidential candidate – whose previous victims include the Mexicans, the gays, the Chinese, females, NBC, French terror victims, Muslims, Rosie O’Donnell, and other Republican candidates – set his sights today on a new target.
The billionaire former reality TV star was speaking during a rally for supporters in South Carolina, when he decided to tell a story about challenging New York Times journalist Serge Kovaleski over an article from 14 years ago.
He mocked Kovaleski by waving clubbed hands around and speaking in a ‘comical’ voice, recalling: “The poor guy, you gotta see you this guy, going ‘aaaaaaaah [dramatic shaking] I don’t know what I said… I don’t remember, maybe this is what I said!’.”
If you’re wondering why that might be an issue: this is Serge Kovaleski.
The journalist suffers from arthrogryposis – a congenital condition that affects joint movement, limiting usage of his hands.
A spokesperson for the NYT said: “We think it’s outrageous that he would ridicule the appearance of one of our reporters.”
A rep for Trump insists that he was “not aware of any condition and was not mocking his physical appearance in any way”… but the candidate himself has launched another diatribe at the newspaper.
He tweeted: “The failing NY Times should be focused on good reporting and the papers financial survival and not with constant hits on Donald Trump!
“The NY Times is so poorly run and managed that other family members are looking to take over control. With unfunded liabilities-big trouble!”
