Ab Fab’s Patsy and Edina help switch on Stella McCartney’s Xmas lights
The pair helped the fashion designer add some festive sparkle to her flagship store.
The stars of Absolutely Fabulous helped Stella McCartney switch on her Christmas lights on Thursday – after presenting her an award earlier this week.
Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley turned up once again as their fashionista alter egos, to add an extra dose of fun to McCartney’s annual Christmas party.
The fashion designer – who is rumoured to be starring in the upcoming Ab Fab movie – was also joined at her flagship store in London’s Mayfair by celebrities including Luke Evans, Ronnie Wood and Salma Hayek.
Eddy and Patsy – famous for gatecrashing such events in their heyday – took to the stage to present the Brand of The Year Award to McCartney on Monday.
I am in my spiritual home. Shout out to all my homies,” Saunders told a cheering crowd.
“The winner has literally come from nowhere. She’s been making bags out of the pubic hair of wheatgrass for years… it’s Stella McCartney!”
The pair stayed in character throughout the ceremony, and were even pictured chugging free champagne at the after party.
The Ab Fab movie has been getting a lot of attention since its announcement earlier in the year.
Other celebrities said to be taking part include One Direction’s Harry Styles – who will be playing the love interest of Lumley’s hard partying character.
Also set to star are Glee’s Chris Colfer, acting legend Joan Collins, Emma Bunton and Kim Kardashian West.
A blurb for the film reads: “Edina and Patsy are still oozing glitz and glamour, living the high life they are accustomed to; shopping, drinking and clubbing their way around London’s trendiest hotspots.
“But when they are blamed for a major incident at an uber fashionable launch party, they become entangled in a media storm and are relentlessly pursued by the paparazzi.”
“Fleeing penniless to the glamorous playground of the super-rich, the French Riviera, they hatch a plan to make their escape permanent and live the high life forevermore!”
