Katie Hopkins: Caitlyn Jenner has a lot to learn about being a woman
Hopkins also criticised the former Olympian’s recent Woman of The Year Award.
TV Personality Katie Hopkins has put herself into the spotlight once again for a scathing attack on Glamour magazine’s Woman of The year winner Caitlyn Jenner.
In an article published in the MailOnline, the controversial columnist slammed Jenner for her recent comments saying that the hardest thing about being a woman is “figuring out what to wear”.
“In poorer countries, hard takes on new meaning. Hard is avoiding rape, fighting for an education, fleeing terror, finding a place to sleep,” wrote Hopkins.
“We quietly transform the lives of others as a condition of motherhood, womanhood, childhood.
We are so much more than our hair, our dress, our make-up or how flat our pubic bone looks in swimwear,” she added.
“Caitlyn. You were an Olympic athlete. As a man you were exceptional. But you cannot be Woman of the Year JUST for becoming one.”
Hopkins comments come after the widow of a previous winner in 2001 handed the award back in disgust stating as his reason.
“It’s not that Glamour honoured a transgender person… but when Mr Jenner said the hardest thing about being a woman was figuring out what to wear he proved he is not truly a woman.”
And it seems on this occasion that Hopkins isn’t the only celebrity with something to say.
Charmed actress Rose McGowan took to Facebook and blasted the ex sport’s star, writing: “We are more than deciding what to wear. We are more than the stereotypes foisted upon us by people like you.”
Katie Hopkins has came under fire a number of times for her debatable opinions on topics such as the refugee crisis to claiming gay and lesbian couples should be denied fertility treatment on the NHS.
This has caused friends such as RuPaul’s Drag race judge Michelle Visage to distance herself from her saying: “I hate everything Hopkins stands for, I think it’s disgusting.”
Jenner – who has been nominated for Time’s personality of the year award – has yet to respond to the column.
