Kyle XY star Matt Dallas adopts an adorable little boy with husband
Former Kyle XY star Matt Dallas has revealed that he has adopted a little boy with his partner – and they make a rather adorable family.
The actor, who starred in the popular ABC teen series, casually came out as gay in 2013 when he announced his engagement to music producer Brandon Blue Hamilton.
The pair tied the knot in July this year – and this week announced they have adopted a son.
In a YouTube video, the pair explained: “We’ve been talking about having kids for a long time. We both come from big families, families are important to both of us – and raising a family of our own is very important to us. It was just a matter of when and how.
“Of course there’s surrogacy, you can have your own kid, private adoption, adoptions from overseas… at first it was overwhelming. We’d spend nights reading on different ways you can adopt.
“After we spent some time researching, it just seemed natural that we would go through the state. There were a lot of kids that really needed homes… kids waking up in office buildings, waking up in group homes.”
They added: “There really is a shortage of people willing to bring in kids who just need a place to stay.”
Halfway through the video they are interrupted by their beautiful new son.
They continue: “We just happened to fall in love with this certain little boy who came to stay with us. On the car ride home we decided he was going to be ours, and we weren’t going to give him up!
“There was supposed to be a six-month trial period, but there was about a six minute trial period before we knew he was going to be ours.”
The pair then introduce their two-year-old son Crow… and adorable family times ensue.
Judging by the video, Crow is the luckiest (and happiest) kid in the world – with two loving dads to take care of him.
