Caitlyn Jenner for ‘follow-up’ Diane Sawyer interview one year on
One year on from Caitlyn Jenner’s emotional coming out interview with Diane Sawyer, the pair will reunite for a follow-up.
The former Olympian and reality TV star announced her transition to female earlier this year in a special extended interview with Saywer – which received huge media attention.
16.9 million tuned in back in April for the landmark interview – nearly 15 times higher than the current viewership for her reality series I Am Cait.
It was announced this week that one year later, the reality star will again return to talk with Sawyer.
The Hollywood Reporter claims: “THR has learned that Caitlyn and Sawyer will re-team in 2016 for a one-year follow-up. Sources say it most likely won’t be at the exact same time of year.
“But it will be just one more of only a handful of interviews that Caitlyn has done since [first] sitting down with Sawyer.”
Jenner has had a tumultuous year, struggling with a tumbling reality show audience while pushing for trans rights.
The reality star has come under fire for her conservative views – previously attempting to explain her past opposition to same-sex marriage in an interview with Ellen.
She also recently met and prayed with with a pastor who led the charge in repealing an LGBT rights law, provoking an angry response from LGBT fans.
Jenner attended the Christmas pageant at Houston’s Second Baptist Church and prayed with Pastor Ed Young – who has ties with a group that aired a shocking ad depicting a little girl getting raped in a bid to stop an equal rights law.
