Gay couple claim House of Fraser staff called them ‘c**ksuckers’
A London-based DJ has claimed that he and his fiancé received homophobic from staff whilst shopping in a House of Fraser department store.
London DJ Fat Tony (Reggie Tailor) and his fiancé David claim they were shopping in House of Fraser’s Victoria branch on Tuesday – when they claim they were subjected to homophobic abuse at the hands of staff members.
The couple allege they were smelling perfume at the counter, when a staff member pointed and laughed at them.
The PinkNews reader claims that when he approached the staff member and asked her why she was laughing, she replied: “I ain’t got no problem with you.”
They allege that when they tried to voice their complaint, the staff member called friends over, and continued to laugh.
After they asked for a manager the couple claim a security guard called them “batty man”, and denied the staff member is homophobic.
He said the incident was “abusive, intimidating and homophobic”, and that when he tried to record the incident on his phone, the security guard threatened to “smash your phone” and teeth.
The DJ told PinkNews that the manager refused to take them to somewhere more private in order for them to make their complaint, and that they were appalled that the staff members in question and security guard remained on the shop floor.
When they were leaving the store, the DJ claims he was approached again by the security guard who called him a “cocksucker”, and repeated that he is a “batty boy”.
House of Fraser told the DJ that it is investigating, and that he will receive back the £200 he spent on goods in the store.
He alleges that the manager he spoke to refused to give him her email address, and refused to identify the staff members by name.
A House of Fraser spokesperson told PinkNews: “We are incredibly disappointed to hear that a member of our staff has allegedly been abusive to a customer.
“We take these allegations extremely seriously and are currently investigating thoroughly.
“At House of Fraser, we do not tolerate any type of verbal or physical abuse.”
