Kylie Minogue might have upped her game as a gay icon ā€“ after appearing as the owner of a gay bar in a TV show.

The star appeared in the series 2 premiere of ABCā€™s musical fantasy comedy Galavant ā€“ in which her real-life boyfriend plays the titular dashing knight hero.

The show has struggled with low ratings in its first year, but joked in its series two opener about shelling out for guest stars to compensate.

The cast sang: ā€œItā€™s a new season for our hero and pals/A new season and itā€™s gonna be scorchinā€™/Off on new sprees and new exotic locales/With new guests whoā€™ll cost the network a fortune.ā€

The first episode is no exception, with Minogue appearing as the The Queen ā€“ the owner of a gay bar in the Enchanted Forest.

The disco diva sings a special extra-camp track penned by Alan Menken ā€“ ā€˜Off With His Shirtā€™.

In it, she flirts with Galavant, ordering him to either remove his shirt or be thrown to ā€˜The Bearā€™.

She sings to the knight: ā€œYou trespassed upon my kingdom, and now youā€™re in my sway. Which basically means as Queen of all queens, Iā€™m going to make you pay.

ā€œOne thing for sure will settle the score, and trust me itā€™s more than fair. Off with his shirt! Strip him down. Donā€™t be shy boys, go to town.ā€

Galavant mercifully obliges ā€“ and itā€™s possibly the gayest thing that Kylie Minogueā€™s ever done.
