Nursery manager accused of calling 4-year-old a ‘wee gay boy’
A nursery manager who allegedly called a four-year-old a “wee gay boy”, is facing disciplinary action.
Margaret Morrison, who was the manager at the Hummingbird House Nursery faces a number of allegations.
She has been called before the Scottish Social Services Council conduct sub committee and will appear later in January.
Morrison could be struck off the register if she is found guilty of the allegations.
The allegations are for incidents between 2011 and 2013, and include claims that she made “inappropriate” comments about a four-year-old.
According to the allegations she called the boy a “wee gay boy”, and when challenged for it by a colleague, she is accused of saying “well he is”.
Morrison is said to have “failed to treat a colleague with dignity and respect”, and is accused of telling a staff member “your days are numbered”.
She is also accused of allowing an unqualified person to look after children at the nursery, and that there were on occasion not enough staff members to supervise the children.
The hearing will take place on 19 January.
