Pizza restaurant eloquently shuts down arguments against gender-neutral toilets
A pizza restaurant has amazingly shut down any argument against them having a gender-neutral toilet.
The Pure Pizza restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, introduced the gender-neutral washrooms.
However rather than entering into a debate on the issue, the management decided to pre-empt any drama.
A sign posted on the toilet door reads: “We have a UniSex bathroom because sometimes gender specific toilets put others into uncomfortable situations.
“And since we have a lot of our friends coming to see us, we wanted to provide a place for our friends who are:
- Single Dads with daughters
- Single Moms with sons
- Parents with disabled children
- Those in the LGBTQ community
- Adults with aging parents who may be mentally/physically disabled
- Thank you for helping us to provide a safe environment for everyone.

The note has had a positive response from Pure Pizza’s customers, with many praising the restaurant for making life a little easier.
Speaking to Khou, she added: “About a month ago, a mom who has a disabled teenage son came in for lunch; she teared up when she saw that we offered a unisex bathroom and I had this posted.
“The reason I listed several instances [in the letter hanging in the bathroom] is to bring awareness to why gender neutral restrooms are often necessary.”
