Sir Elton John doesn’t want his kids to see his crazy old outfits
Sir Elton John has says that he hasn’t shown his two children any of his old flamboyant costumes.
The veteran singer spoke to Ellen DeGeneres this week when he made the admission.
Asked if he shared any of his memorabilia with his sons Zachary (5) and Elijah (3), he said: “They find it odd what I walk around in anyway, so if we got back in time… maybe not!”
Though he doesn’t want his kids to see any of his old outlandish outfits, that didn’t stop Ellen sharing some of her favourites.
Of his relationship with husband David Furnish, Sir Elton said: “We’ve been together ten years and married one. It was our first anniversary in December.
“It was only legal then – because we had a civil partnership before, it was hard for me to get married and they had to change the law! But I got married on the anniversary of our civil partnership.
“If you’d said to me ten years ago I’d be sitting on your show married to the man I love with two beautiful children, I’d say you’d put acid in my drink.
“Life throws you challenges and life throws you curve-balls…and these two children have come along at a time when I thought I’d never had children.
“They are the greatest thing alive, there’s no words to describe how much we love these boys. They’re just amazing.”
However, they aren’t that interested in his music or work.
He said: “They love Hotline Bling, that’s their favourite song, and they love Uptown Funk.
“They can sing some of my songs too – Rocket Man, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart and Bennie and the Jets.
“But they’re not that keen on what I do – they’re more interested in their Lego, which is fine by me.
He added: “If they wanted to play piano [that would be fine]… but I’m not going to push them in any direction whatsoever.”
