This gay guy’s Fitbit recorded the exact moment his boyfriend split up with him
A Fitbit picked up an interesting change in a gay guy when he got broken up with by his boyfriend.
Koby Soto posted on Twitter a screenshot of his Fitbit’s heart rate graph for the day he got broken up with.
The Fitbit actually thought he was working out, as his heart rate went from 72 resting up to 88, peaking at 118BPM.
Speaking to BuzzFeed news, Soto recalled the breakup, saying: “He said that we’re going to have to cancel, and I said ‘Why?’ and he said, ‘Things are not working as they should.’”
He responded: “‘Are you serious? You’re doing this over the phone?’”
After he noticed his heart rate had remained high for the rest of the day, the 28-year-old Israeli law student said: “I wasn’t doing anything, I didn’t go to the gym, I didn’t expect the Fitbit to even track me…It was just on me.”
Of the tracker picking up his body’s change in the circumstances, he said: “I feel like it’s nice to have a log of your confirmation of what you felt.”
He continued: “You can tell people you have heartbreak and you feel bad. People become less cynical once you show them the numbers or once you show the data or graphs. Everyone understands heartbreak, right? Everyone’s felt it. When you have this, it’s interesting — you have something to show.”
After his story went viral, Soto posted again on Twitter, saying: “My post being viral is a little scary & embarrassing, yet funny. Thx for all the support and hugs. You are fabulous, and I am very much ok!”
