Gay test? This quiz claims to be able to tell your sexuality based on images

A gay or queer couple kissing

Is there such a thing as a gay test? Are you confused by some of the different terms and identities around on the internet? Well, this sexuality quiz claims to shed some light on your desires.

Sexuality is much more complex than just gay, straight or bisexual, with hundreds of identities and labels varying kinds used both online and off, including broader terms like queer.

Queer is not as specific as gay: It doesn’t reveal your gender, or the gender of your partner, whereas lesbian, for example, usually implies that you’re a woman attracted to other women.

Queer essentially means ‘a person who is not straight’, while gay means ‘a person who is attracted to the same sex’.

PinkNews has its own glossary of LGBTQ+ terms to help your understanding of key words.

A sexuality quiz that uses images can be a fun and interactive way to explore different aspects of human sexuality: who can forget when Heartstopper’s Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) took one while coming to terms with his crush on Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) on the hit Netflix series?

Remember, gay tests and quizzes are just a bit of fun, and no one can define your sexuality except for you, nor better understand.

Gay sexuality test?

So how does this image-based gay sexuality test work? Well, the quiz below will show you a series of images and illustrations and ask you to say what you see, using the options provided.

This could provide insight into the diversity of human sexuality and help you better understand your sexuality, but ultimately it’s just a bit of fun.

The sexuality quiz will appear below. It might take a few seconds to load! Play along and see what your results are calculated as.

The results will be based on the Kinsey Scale, which was created in 1948. Instead of assigning people to three categories – heterosexual, bisexual or homosexual – seven-point sexuality scale ranges from 0 to 6, with the additional category of X.
