Father arrested for trying to stab daughter after she came out
A man has been arrested for trying to attack his daughter with a knife after she told him she was a lesbian.
A father accused of threatening his daughter with a knife when she came out as a lesbian is now in jail, according to WZTV.
Ike Wright of Nashville, Tennessee was charged over the weekend with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the police report, Wright became “enraged” when he found out about his daughter’s sexuality.
He allegedly pulled out a knife and waved it at her, her girlfriend, and his son in “separate threatening actions.”
Police say Wright, who was said to be heavily intoxicated at the time of the assault, was “angry and agitated” and “ranted about his daughter being a lesbian throughout the interaction.”
Back in December, another young woman told of how her father had tried to attack her because she was a lesbian – but got more than he bargained for.
The woman told fellow Reddit users that her father had “exploded at her” due to her sexuality and attempted to beat her up – however, the woman, who is a trained black belt, managed to throw her father to the floor.
Following the incident, she says she tried to explain her sexuality to her father, but he refused to listen.
He told her that she is wrong and “biologically a female” so he doesn’t understand why she has “chosen this way of life”.
