Homophobic rape advocates cancel global meetings amid backlash
Return of Kings also champion anorexia, rape, domestic violence, ‘slut-shaming’ and transphobia.
An online group of misogynistic, homophobic ‘neomasculinists’ that condones violence against gay men has cancelled its plans meet in real life – after its leader said he feared for member safety.
Despite previously encouraging his army of followers to finally “come out of the shadows” and stand up to “ugly females and their enablers”, self-styled pick-up artist and fully fledged supremacist Daryush ‘Roosh’ Valizadeh said he can “no longer guarantee the safety” of attendees.
Valizadeh had originally arranged meet-ups in over 165 cities worldwide – including London, New York and Sydney – but in a brief statement released earlier, he said he no longer wishes to be associated with the exercise.
“I can no longer guarantee the safety or privacy of the men who want to attend on 6 February, especially since most of the meet-ups can not be made private in time,” he wrote.
“While I can’t stop men who want to continue meeting in private groups, there will be no official Return of Kings meet-ups.”
This a dramatic change in tone for a man who condones homophobia, raping a woman on private property and domestic violence.
Earlier this week ‘Roosh’ promised his ‘macho’ group of fellow bigots that they no longer had “to hide behind a computer screen for fear of retaliation.
Although it seems he may have been right about one thing, after claiming his call-to-arms would “be a clear signal to all that we’re not going anywhere.”
This could not be more accurate, after the group were threatened with protests across the globe – including one from an all-female boxing group in Toronto – forcing the majority of ‘Kings’ back into hiding.
Police were also notified and a number of local politicians informed the group they would not be welcome in their area.
During his bile-inducing ‘career’, Valizadeh has gone out of his way to shock and disgust in equal measure, he has admitted to raping drunk women, labelled all trans people rapists and attacked same-sex marriage.
“The legalisation of gay marriage is a full frontal attack on heterosexual men,” he wrote.
