The actress and LGBT advocate hit back after Morgan labelled her outfit choice ā€˜tackyā€™.

Susan Sarandon has responded to Piers Morgan, after the presented attacked the actress online for wearing a ā€œhorribly inappropriateā€ outfit to the recent Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The actress tweeted a picture of herself in nothing but her underwear, after Morgan accused her of ā€œdeliberately flaunting your breasts on TV for publicity.ā€

The stunning 69-year-old dedicated the classic snap ā€“ from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

ā€œTodayā€™s #TBT is dedicated to @piersmorgan,ā€ she quipped.

Morgan has been criticised by both men and women for attacking the Thelma and Louise star for wearing a low-cut white blazer and black bra to the awards ā€“ with many claiming Morganā€™s real issue is Sarandonā€™s age.

However, Morgan said his only complaint was the fact that the starā€™s clothes were inappropriate to wear to an event that honours deceased actors ā€“ although he did not seem to have a problem with other, younger starletā€™s equally risquĆ© choices.

ā€œWould Susan Sarandon wear this to a funeral? No,ā€ he wrote.

ā€œIt was thus horribly inappropriate for an In Memoriam tribute.ā€

After seeing Sarandonā€™s dedication to him. Morgan replied with a picture of his ownā€¦

In a move that repulsed most users, he posted digitally remastered image of himself ā€“ lying semi-clothed in front of a blazing fire and wearing gold jewelry.

He later assured the actress, ā€œI think your cleavage is magnificent. ā€‹Iā€™d just keep it hidden for ā€œIn Memoriamā€ tributes. Love Piers xā€ā€‹ before telling his ā€œfurious feministā€ critics to ā€œpipe down.ā€

Sarandon is a strong supporter of same-sex marriage and LGBT rights, filming a video for the Human Rights Campaign in 2014 calling for equality.

She said at the time: ā€œWhile marriage might not be my thing, if itā€™s your thing you damn well ought to be able to have it equally and unequivocally.ā€

She has also spoken out in support of her gender fluid son, Miles, saying she thinks that ā€œthe more crayons you have in your box to colour outside the lines, the more exciting it is.ā€
