Hillary Clinton: LGBT rights is top of my list of priorities (VIDEO)
The Democratic presidential candidate has once again vowed to fight for LGBT rights if elected.
US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has said she will put the Equality Act āon the top of my priority list as presidentā if she wins the upcoming battle for The White House.
Clinton made the promise after was quizzed by a student in New Hampshire on how she would change things for the LGBT community.
Yesterday at a college in New Hampshire, a student asked Hillary what sheāll do to fight for LGBT equality as president. From employment discrimination to bullying to violence against trans women, these are the issues she said sheāll tackle.

āYou absolutely deserve justice and you deserve equality under the law. Thatās why I support the Equality Act,ā she responded.
āIt was one of the reasons why the Human Rights Campaign endorsed me.
āBecause Iāve been with them at the front lines to try to get justice for the LGBT community, to try to end discrimination.ā
The Equality Act ā which would outlaw discrimination and ensure a range of protections for LGBT people ā was tabled by Democrats in Congress last year.
The former Secretary of State added there were other pressing issues facing the community that also had to be addressed, such as violence against trans women ā records of which have risen steadily in the US and globally.
āWe have work to do at home, but we have a lot of work to do around the world,ā she said.
āA lot of people are really in danger and are given no chance to be themselves. And that has to be part of our agenda as well.ā
As the fight for the Democratic candidacy continues, Clinton has been repeatedly forced to fight off tough questions over her LGBT rights record from the 1990s and early 2000s.
Main rival Bernie Sanders recently accused her of āinsulting the entire gay communityā by supporting her husband Bill Clinton ā who signed the anti-gay Defence of Marriage Act (DOMA) into law as part of a compromise with Republicans, who were pushing for an anti-gay constitutional amendment.
However, at least the pair are debating LGBT rights ā unlike their anti-gay Republican counterparts. Check out what they have to say about LGBT rights below:
