Russell Tovey apologies for putting man in hospital with his ‘nipples’
The actor broke his silence after a man collapsed during a performance of A View From the Bridge last week.
A performance of A View From the Bridge had to be temporarily halted last week ā after an audience member fainted as Russell Toveyās character removed his shirt.
Theatre fan Davin Cutchall said he was āmortifiedā after he passed out ā moments after actor Tovey stripped off to reveal his rather impressive physique.
Fearing a heart attack, three audience members rushed to tend to the patient until emergency services arrived.
The show at the Lyceum Theatre resumed a few minutes after Cutchall was rushed to hospital.
Cutchall later tweeted a picture of himself in his hospital bed, as he apologised for ādisturbing the performance.ā
However, it was Toveyās turn to apologise recently, as he now broken his silence on the incident.
Speaking to Heat magazine, he said that wanted to publicly apologise for the unexpected effect his body had on audience members.
āOn behalf of my arms and nipples, I feel the need to publicly apologise for the effects felt by one of our audience members on a dark winter night in New York City,ā he said.
In August, the actor ā whose HBO show Looking was cancelled last year ā was one of a number of new patrons to sign on to support the Albert Kennedy Trust.
Tovey, who has supported the charity for some time, said: āThe AKT helps thousands of young people every year find their footing again.
āEveryone deserves to live safe and supported and this charity changes lives for the better, daily.
āI am honoured to be associated with them and if just by being there, I can make any difference at all, then that difference is the most important thing.ā
