Stephen Fry and Cuba Gooding Jr decide against repeat performance of BAFTAs kiss
Stephen Fry and Cuba Gooding Jr decided not to repeat their performance from the BAFTAs last year, when they shared a kiss.
However, Gooding Jr did present the comedian and broadcaster with a rose for Valentine’s Day while Fry did a kiss cam on the red carpet, and Stanley Tucci did get a little peck on the Kiss Cam with Gooding Jr.
Fry later took to the stage as the host of the 2016 BAFTAs.
Other kiss-cam pairings included Dame Maggie Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio, Eddie Izzard and Rebel Wilson, as well as Julianne Moore and Brian Cranston.
In case you missed it, joking that he was offended that Fry did not offer him a kiss earlier in the evening at the 2015 ceremony, Gooding Jr said: “Can I just say how deeply hurt I was that you didn’t choose to kiss me earlier Stephen.”
As Fry approached him from the side of the stage to give him a peck on the cheek, the Jerry Maguire star surprised him by turning his head to give him a kiss on the lips.
He joked: “That’s the first time I’ve ever kissed a member of the Royal family.”
“Just getting a little chocolate love soul in here tonight,” Gooding Jr joked, before continuing to present Patricia Arquette her award for her role in ‘Boyhood’.
