Robbie Rogers and boyfriend welcome adorable baby boy
Out gay footballer Robbie Rogers and his boyfriend have welcomed a beautiful baby boy.
Rogers’ boyfriend, Greg Berlanti, the creator of ‘The Flash’, announced on Instagram that he had welcomed his son via surrogate.
Berlanti wrote under the photos: “It is with much pride and love that I introduce to the world my son, Caleb Gene Berlanti. Born February 18, 2016. There is nothing I’ve wanted more, or waited for longer, than to be a father.
“Achieving this dream would not have been possible without the love and support of my wonderful family and surrogate, incredible boyfriend, amazing friends and co-workers that encouraged me and helped me on this remarkable journey. Check back in approximately 25-30 years for the tell-all about how I screwed it all up, until then apologies for the over posting of baby photos. My heart is full forever.”
Berlanti has written, directed and produced shows such as Dawson’s Creek, Brothers & Sisters, and Arrow
Rogers also shared his own post, writing: “Welcoming Caleb Gene Berlanti into this world with love and peace. 2/18/2016 the most handsome pure little guy I’ve set my eyes on.”
Former Leeds United footballer Rogers came out as gay in 2013, while announcing his retirement from professional football – but he has since come out of retirement and now plays for LA Galaxy.
The US footballer has previously lashed out at FIFA for awarding the World Cup to countries with anti-gay laws and poor human rights records, such as Russia and Qatar.
Last year he promised to be “extremely flamboyant”, when he travels to the 2018 World Cup, set to take place in Russia.
